The Concubine is a historical drama film set in the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. Hwa-yeon is a beautiful young woman who lives in poverty with her father. One day, she is spotted by the King's eunuch, who sees in her the potential to become a concubine for the King. Hwa-yeon decides to accept the offer, hoping that it will bring her and her family a better life.

Once inside the palace, Hwa-yeon catches the eye of the Grand Prince Seong-won, who becomes obsessed with her. He dominates her physically and emotionally, using her as a pawn in his political games. Hwa-yeon, however, begins to develop feelings for Kwon-yoo, a low-born nobleman who serves as the Grand Prince's bodyguard. They begin a clandestine affair, but their love is threatened by the Grand Prince's jealousy and Kwon-yoo's loyalty to his master.

As the power struggle between the Grand Prince and the King escalates, Hwa-yeon finds herself caught in the middle. She must navigate the dangerous political intrigues of the palace while trying to protect her own desires and those she loves. The film is a dark and sensual exploration of love, power, and betrayal, and features stunning performances by its lead actors.
