The Client List is a made-for-TV movie that originally aired on the Lifetime network in 2010. The film stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as Samantha Horton, a former beauty queen who lives in a small Texas town with her husband, Rex (played by Teddy Sears), and two children. When both Samantha and Rex lose their jobs, they struggle to make ends meet and pay their bills.
Desperate for money, Samantha takes a job at a local massage parlor called The Rub. She is told that it is a legitimate business and that she will only be giving massages to clients. However, it quickly becomes clear that The Rub is actually a front for a high-end prostitution ring, and Samantha is expected to offer "extras" to clients who pay extra money.
Samantha is initially hesitant to participate in the prostitution ring, but as her financial situation worsens, she becomes more and more involved. She develops relationships with some of her clients, including a wealthy businessman named Ray (played by Cybill Shepherd), who becomes a regular customer.
However, Samantha's secret life begins to unravel when she is caught by a police raid on The Rub. She is arrested and faces serious charges, but is given a plea deal in exchange for cooperating with the police and testifying against the people running the prostitution ring.
The Client List is based on a true story and was later turned into a TV series, also starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, which aired on Lifetime from 2012-2013.
