The Church is a supernatural thriller directed by John Doe and released in 2020. The film centers on a Baptist church in a struggling Philadelphia neighborhood that has been earmarked for gentrification. The minister of the church, Reverend Davis (played by Omari Hardwick), is determined to preserve his family's evangelical legacy and keep the church alive. However, he soon finds himself battling against his status-seeking wife and greedy church leaders who are tempted by cash bribes and promises from unscrupulous developers.
