After Cody returns home, he feels out of place and lost. He struggles to adjust to civilian life and deal with the struggles of PTSD. On his way to deliver Jonesy's belongings, he finds himself in Nevada City, a small town known for its Christmas cheer. There, he meets Faith, who is surprised to see him as she had only written the Christmas card out of goodwill.
Faith and her family offer to help Cody and show him around the town. He spends time with them and helps out with their logging business. He finds solace in their company and the simple pleasures of life. However, Faith is engaged to Paul, a man who is rarely around. Cody starts to develop feelings for Faith but doesn't want to interfere with her relationship.
As Christmas approaches, Cody must decide if he should confess his feelings to Faith or leave and continue his life elsewhere. Meanwhile, Luke tries to convince Faith that Cody would be a perfect son-in-law. As the days go by, Faith starts to see Cody in a different light and wonders if she has been with the wrong man all along.
