Drama  Switzerland,Germany,France

The Chorus, also known as Les Choristes in French, tells the story of Clément Mathieu, a music teacher who is hired to work at a school for troubled boys in rural France in the 1940s. The school is run by the strict and authoritarian headmaster, Monsieur Rachin.

Clément quickly realizes that the boys at the school are undisciplined and have been neglected by their families and society. He decides to start a choir as a way to engage the boys and give them a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

At first, the boys resist Clément's efforts, but as they begin practicing and performing together, they develop a newfound sense of camaraderie and passion for music. One of the boys, Pierre, is particularly talented and becomes the soloist for the choir.

Meanwhile, Clément forms a bond with one of the boys, Morhange, and learns that he has a troubled home life. Clément becomes determined to help Morhange and the other boys in any way he can.

As the choir becomes more successful, Monsieur Rachin becomes increasingly jealous of Clément's popularity and begins to undermine his authority. Ultimately, the choir performs at a local concert and receives a standing ovation from the audience.

The Chorus is a heartwarming and uplifting film that highlights the transformative power of music and the importance of a caring and dedicated teacher in the lives of young people. It was nominated for two Academy Awards and won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.
