The Cheerleaders is a low-budget comedy film directed by Paul Glickler and released in 1973. The movie follows the story of a group of cheerleaders from a California high school who are fed up with their football team's losing streak. They hatch a plan to boost morale and give their team an edge by seducing the members of the opposing team the night before the game.
The cheerleaders divide into groups and target individual players on the opposing team. They use various strategies to seduce the players, including spiking their drinks with aphrodisiacs, dressing up as seductive housewives, and offering massages.
Meanwhile, the local police department, led by Detective Joe (Carl Ballantine), investigates a series of crimes related to the cheerleaders' activities. The police soon discover the cheerleaders' plan and try to put a stop to it, but the girls are determined to carry out their mission.
The film features a series of comic mishaps as the cheerleaders try to seduce the opposing team, including mistaken identities and embarrassing encounters. The movie also features several musical interludes with cheesy songs such as "Go, Fight, Win" and "M-O-N-E-Y."
