The Champagne Murders is a 1967 French crime thriller film directed by Claude Chabrol. It follows the story of Paul Wagner, a wealthy French champagne businessman who believes that his business partner's husband is responsible for a series of recent murders.
When the film opens, it is revealed that a young woman has been found dead in Paul Wagner's champagne cellar, drowned in a vat of champagne. As the investigation continues, more bodies start to pile up, each one found dead in a vat of champagne. Wagner becomes increasingly paranoid and suspicious of Richard, believing that he is behind all of the murders. However, as the investigation unfolds, it becomes clear that there are others involved in the murders, and the truth is far more complicated than anyone could have imagined.
