As Catherine journeys deeper into Carl's mind, she encounters a twisted and surreal world that reflects his disturbed psyche and horrific past. She meets a young boy who represents Carl's innocence, a sadistic horseman who symbolizes his brutality and power, and other grotesque characters that reveal his deepest fears and desires.
