The Catch follows the story of Rebecca, a troubled woman who returns to her hometown in coastal Maine after many years of estrangement from her family. Her return coincides with a turf war between her lobsterman father, who is struggling to maintain his business, and a rival group of fishermen who are encroaching on his territory.
Feeling helpless and frustrated by her father's situation, Rebecca reconnects with an ex-boyfriend, Dexter, who is now involved in the local drug trade. Together, they hatch a plan to hijack the drug runners and use the proceeds to save her father's business.
As their plan unfolds, the main characters find themselves on a slippery slope of increasingly dangerous and morally questionable decisions. Rebecca, who is battling personal demons, finds herself drawn to Dexter, who is also struggling with his own inner demons.
