The Case of the Scorpion's Tail is a 1971 Italian giallo film directed by Sergio Martino. The movie tells the story of Lisa Baumer, who inherits a fortune from her husband after he dies in a plane crash. However, shortly after inheriting his wealth, Lisa is killed by an unknown assailant.

The case is immediately taken up by the local police, led by Inspector John Norton, played by George Hilton. Initially, the investigation leads nowhere, but soon Norton discovers that several people had motives to kill Lisa, including her stepson, her sleazy lawyer, and her husband's mistress.

As Norton digs deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and lies, with each suspect pointing the finger of blame at someone else. The investigation takes a dark turn when another murder occurs, and Norton realizes that he is dealing with a cold-blooded killer who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets hidden.

The film is notable for its stylish direction and memorable set pieces, including a tense chase sequence through a darkened airport. The Case of the Scorpion’s Tail is one of the lesser-known giallo films of the era, but it is a solid example of the genre, with plenty of twists and turns to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
