The Cameraman is a 1928 silent comedy film directed by Edward Sedgwick and starring Buster Keaton. The story follows Buster, a man who falls in love with a beautiful secretary (played by Marceline Day) at MGM Newsreels, a newsreel company he hopes to work for as a photographer.

To impress her, he buys a movie camera and tries to capture news stories around the city, but he proves to be an awful cameraman. He misses important events, accidentally gets splashed with water, and even climbs into a gorilla cage while trying to get a shot. Despite his failures, the secretary takes pity on him and offers to help him get a job at the company.

However, the true test of his abilities comes when he is sent to Yankee Stadium to film a big baseball game. Buster is determined to get the perfect shot, but he accidentally drops his camera and it starts rolling onto the field, getting footage of the game-winning home run. He becomes a hero at MGM Newsreels and wins the heart of the secretary.

The Cameraman is known for its inventive slapstick humor and Keaton's unique brand of physical comedy. It is considered one of Keaton's greatest works and has been praised for its realism in capturing the hustle and bustle of New York City in the late 1920s.
