The California Kid is a 1974 made-for-TV movie that follows the story of Michael McCord, a young man who learns about the mysterious and sadistic small-town sheriff, Roy Childress, who has been causing fatal accidents on the mountain roads leading into town. Michael's brother, who was a hot-rod driver, became one of the victims of the sheriff's cruelty.
