Milo Boyd (played by Gerard Butler) is a former police officer turned bounty hunter. His latest assignment is to bring in his ex-wife, Nicole Hurley (played by Jennifer Aniston), who has skipped out on a court appearance related to a minor offense. Milo jumps at the chance to get some payback on Nicole, who he blames for the end of their marriage.
When Milo tracks Nicole down at a gambling boat, he finds she is investigating a story for her job as a reporter. However, Nicole claims that she is being framed for a murder and needs Milo's help to prove her innocence. Initially skeptical, Milo agrees to help and the two of them work together to try and clear Nicole's name.
However, things get complicated when Nicole's new boyfriend, Stewart (played by Jason Sudeikis), shows up and joins in the chase. Stewart is convinced that Nicole is in danger and sets out to rescue her, which causes tension between him and Milo. As they continue to evade the police and dodge dangerous situations, Milo and Nicole start to reconnect and realize that their feelings for each other may not be completely gone.
Throughout the movie, Milo and Nicole face various obstacles and challenges, including betrayals and confrontations with dangerous criminals. The Bounty Hunter is a romantic action-comedy that keeps audiences entertained with its mix of humor, suspense, and romance.
