Samantha and Jeff are determined to get their daughter into one of the city's prestigious kindergarten programs, but quickly discover that it's not as simple as just enrolling their child. To even have a shot at landing a spot, they must navigate a complex and competitive world of application essays, behavioral interviews, and playdates with other families.
As they immerse themselves in this world, Samantha and Jeff encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a ruthless consultant who promises to get their daughter admitted for a hefty fee, a homeschooling mom who is fiercely opposed to traditional schooling methods, and a neurotic dad who will do anything to make sure his child gets ahead.
The couple finds themselves caught up in a web of lies and deceit as they try to game the system and secure their child's future. But as they push the boundaries of what is ethical and fair, they begin to question whether they are doing the right thing – and whether the cost of getting ahead is worth sacrificing their values and their integrity.
