The Believers is a 1987 supernatural thriller directed by John Schlesinger. The film follows Cal Jamison, a psychologist who just moved to New York with his son after the accidental death of his wife. Jamison is asked by his friend Lt. Sean McTaggart (Robert Loggia) to help investigate a series of ritualistic murders that seem to involve the sacrifice of young boys in a religious cult.
As Jamison delves deeper into the investigation, he discovers a shadowy world of voodoo, Santeria, and black magic.
