The Bears and I is a 1974 adventure drama film directed by Bernard McEveety and produced by Walt Disney Productions. The movie stars Patrick Wayne as Robert Leslie, a young man who takes on the responsibility of raising three orphaned black bear cubs after their mother is killed by hunters.

Leslie lives in the rugged wilderness of British Columbia, where he works as a logger. He quickly becomes attached to the bear cubs, who he names Faith, Hope, and Charity, and begins to care for them as if they were his own children. However, Leslie soon faces a series of challenges as he tries to keep the bears safe from hunters, park rangers, and the harsh realities of the wilderness.

As Leslie struggles to maintain his relationship with the bears, he must also navigate conflicts with the local native American tribe and park rangers who view the bears as a threat to their way of life. With the help of some unexpected allies, including a team of sled dogs, Leslie sets out on a dangerous trek through the wilderness to find a safe and permanent home for the bears.

The Bears and I is based on a novel of the same name by Robert Franklin Leslie. The movie was praised for its stunning cinematography and portrayal of the joys and challenges of living in the wilderness. It also features a heartwarming performance by Wayne as the devoted "father" of the three young bear cubs.
