The Beanie Bubble follows the story of Ty Warner, a struggling toy salesman who is desperate for a hit product. He meets three women who inspire him to create a line of small stuffed animals with unique designs, and they become an overnight success in the early 1990s. The Beanie Babies craze takes off, and soon people are collecting them like crazy, driving up prices and causing fights in stores.
As Ty becomes insanely wealthy, he struggles with keeping up with the demand for new designs and managing the ruthless collectors who will do anything to get their hands on rare Beanies. He also faces conflict with his three collaborators, as they feel like he's taking all the credit and profit for their ideas.
Meanwhile, the bubble begins to burst as the market becomes saturated with knock-offs and loyal fans realize they have thousands of dollars worth of stuffed animals that are essentially worthless. Ty tries to keep the craze going by introducing new lines and partnering with McDonald's, but eventually, the Beanie Babies fad dies down.
The film explores themes of greed, fame, and the absurdity of the collector's market while also shedding light on the often-overlooked women who played a crucial role in the creation of one of the biggest toy trends in history.
