The Bank Job is a crime thriller movie directed by Roger Donaldson and released in 2008. The film is based on the true story of the Baker Street robbery in London in 1971, which was one of the most audacious heists in British history.

The main character of the movie is Terry Leather, played by Jason Statham, who runs a small car dealership in London's East End, but has a shady past. Terry is approached by his old flame Martine Love, played by Saffron Burrows, who offers him a proposal to rob a bank. Though initially hesitant, Terry agrees to help her and puts together a team of criminals, which includes Kevin Swain, Dave Shilling, Bambas, and Eddie Burton.

Martine has connections with a black militant group who wants a particular safety deposit box in the bank, which is believed to contain compromising photos of Princess Margaret with a well-known criminal Michael X. The group is willing to pay Terry and his team a handsome sum of money for their services. With the help of a corrupt bank employee, they gain access to the vault and steal millions of pounds.

However, they soon realise that they have stumbled upon a lot more than just money and compromising photos. They discover evidence of corruption and blackmail that implicates several high-profile figures, including politicians, policemen, and members of the royal family. They are then pursued by dangerous criminals who want to keep the stolen secrets buried, including a ruthless hitman known as Vogel.

The film is fast-paced and has a lot of suspenseful moments, with some thrilling action scenes, including a high-speed car chase. The Bank Job received positive reviews from both critics and audiences for its storyline, performances, and attention to period detail.
