The Baker's Wife is a 1938 French comedy-drama directed by Marcel Pagnol. The film is set in a small village in Provence during the 1930s, and tells the story of a kind-hearted baker named Aimable Castanier, who has just arrived in the village with his beautiful young wife, Aurelie.
