In The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, Amos and Theodore have split from the rest of the gang and are now trying to make a living as drifters. They stumble upon a small town where they witness a group of bandits stealing a shipment of army supplies. The local sheriff is unable to solve the crime and asks for help from the army.
Amos and Theodore decide to take matters into their own hands and track down the thieves themselves, posing as army officers. Along the way, they meet a runaway orphan named Toby and take him under their wing.
As they get closer to the truth, Amos and Theodore find themselves in all sorts of hilarious situations, including accidentally getting enlisted in the army, riding a runaway cannon and pretending to be circus performers.
In the end, the duo manages to catch the thieves and save the day. They also realize that they have found a new family in Toby and the people of the small town. The movie is a fun-filled adventure that is sure to keep audiences entertained from beginning to end.
