In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker continues his dual life as a high school student and a superhero. As he prepares to graduate, he also faces new challenges and threats that test his abilities and relationships.
One of the main villains in the movie is Electro, played by Jamie Foxx. Electro is a former Oscorp employee who gains the power to control electricity after an accident. He seeks revenge against the company and anyone who has wronged him, including Spider-Man.
Meanwhile, Harry Osborn, Peter's childhood friend and heir to Oscorp, returns to New York City after his father's death. Harry is dying from a genetic disease and seeks a cure from Spider-Man's blood, but when Peter refuses, Harry becomes the new Green Goblin and turns against him.
In addition to these new threats, Peter uncovers more information about his parents and their connection to Oscorp. He learns that his father, Richard Parker, was involved in a secret project that could change the course of human evolution, and that Oscorp founder Norman Osborn was also involved.
As Peter navigates these challenges, he also tries to maintain his relationship with Gwen Stacy. However, their relationship is complicated by Gwen's desire to attend Oxford University in England and Peter's promise to her father to stay away for her safety.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features intense action sequences, stunning visual effects, and emotional moments that explore the themes of love, loss, and responsibility.
