The Alien Factor, released in 1978, follows a group of aliens who escape their crashed spaceship and begin attacking the local townspeople. The aliens are humanoid in appearance, but each has their own unique abilities and powers. The town's police force tries to track down the creatures and stop them before more people are killed.
The film features a cast of mostly unknown actors and was made on a very low budget. Director Don Dohler shot the film in and around Baltimore, Maryland, using local actors and crew members. He also created the special effects for the movie himself, which include the aliens' costumes and various gory scenes of violence.
Despite its low budget and amateurish production values, The Alien Factor has gained a following among fans of cult cinema. Its cheesy dialogue, over-the-top violence, and quirky characters have made it a beloved classic of the sci-fi/horror genre. The film even spawned a sequel, The Alien Factor 2: The Alien Rampage, in 2001.
