The Accidental Spy is a 2001 action-comedy film directed by Teddy Chan and starring Jackie Chan. In the movie, Jackie Chan plays a character named Buck, who is a struggling salesman living in Hong Kong. Buck spends most of his days trying to sell cheap products to disinterested customers, wishing for a more exciting and adventurous life.

One day, Buck stumbles upon a robbery attempt at a local bank and, without thinking twice, intervenes and thwarts the criminals. His actions are caught on camera and soon become the talk of the town, turning him into an instant hero.

Buck's newfound fame catches the attention of a man who claims to be his long-lost father. The man reveals to Buck that he is actually a former spy who had been working on a top-secret mission. Buck agrees to help his father complete the mission and travels to South Africa, which is the location of the next phase of the operation.

As Buck gets further involved in the mission, he discovers that his father's intentions may not be entirely pure. Buck begins to uncover a web of deceit and corruption, and must use his wits and skills to navigate his way through dangerous situations.

Throughout the movie, Jackie Chan delivers his trademark high-flying fight scenes and stunts, adding a comedic touch to the action sequences. The movie also features an international cast, including Eric Tsang, Vivian Hsu, and Kim Min-jeong.

The Accidental Spy was a box office success, grossing over $43 million worldwide, and has since become a fan-favorite amongst Jackie Chan fans.
