That's Wild follows the story of three teenagers from Atlanta who are at risk and struggling with various personal challenges such as poverty, violence, and drug addiction. The boys, Jadon, Davion, and Richard, join a wilderness program called Summit for Someone that takes them on a life-changing journey to climb four 12,000 ft snowcapped peaks in the Colorado wilderness.

During their six-week expedition, the boys are challenged not only by the physical demands of climbing but also by the emotional struggles of being away from home, confronting their own fears, and learning to trust each other and their mentors. They face unexpected setbacks such as equipment failures, unpredictable weather, and altitude sickness.

Nevertheless, the boys persist, fueled by their determination to push themselves to their limits and prove to themselves and the world that they are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. Along the way, they discover a newfound respect for nature and develop a sense of self-worth and confidence that they carry with them long after their journey is over.
