Terminator: Dark Fate is a 2019 science fiction action film directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron. It serves as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, ignoring the events of the subsequent films in the franchise.

The film begins in 1998, twenty-two years after the events of Judgment Day, where a new cyborg assassin named Rev-9 is sent from the future to kill a young woman named Dani Ramos. However, she is protected by another cyborg, Grace, who is sent back to the present from the future to ensure Dani's survival. Grace reveals that Dani is critical to the future resistance against Skynet, an artificial intelligence that seeks to exterminate humanity.

Sarah Connor also joins the fight, having survived her own encounter with the terminators. Together, the trio embarks on a mission to destroy the Rev-9 and prevent the catastrophic future that awaits them.

Throughout their journey, they encounter an aging T-800 model, known as Carl, who has developed a conscience and renounces his former purpose of killing humans. Sarah initially distrusts him, but eventually agrees to work alongside him to protect Dani and humanity's future.

The film features intense action sequences and explores the relationship between humans and machines, as well as themes of fate, sacrifice, and redemption. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Mackenzie Davis star in the lead roles.
