In the third installment of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael are transported back in time to ancient Japan, thanks to a magical scepter that they accidentally picked up whilst shopping in a thrift store.
Upon arriving in feudal Japan, the turtles encounter a group of samurai who attack them on sight. After defeating the samurai in battle, the turtles are taken in by a kind and gracious family who live in a small nearby village. They discover that the family's son, Yoshi, used to be a successful warrior before being stripped of his status by an evil warlord named Lord Norinaga.
In order to stop Norinaga's tyranny, the turtles must master the art of being ninja warriors under the tutelage of a wise old rat named Splinter. With the help of their new friends in the village, including a young woman named Mitsu, the turtles learn to hone their skills in sword fighting, stealth, and combat.
As they prepare to face Norinaga's army, the turtles discover that his right-hand man, Walker, is actually a fellow time traveler who also possesses a magical scepter. With the help of Walker and the village's warriors, the turtles launch a final attack on Norinaga's palace, where they engage in an epic battle against his army of samurai.
In the end, the turtles emerge victorious, having successfully helped the villagers overthrow Norinaga and restore Yoshi's honor. They say their goodbyes and return to present-day New York City, grateful for their experience in ancient Japan and the friendships they made along the way.
