The movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a live-action film adaptation of the popular comic book and cartoon series of the same name. It was released in 2014 and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and produced by Michael Bay.
The movie follows the story of four mutant turtles, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, who were mutated by a mysterious substance and turned into humanoid turtles. They are trained in ninjutsu by Master Splinter, a mutated rat, and live in the sewers of New York City.
One day, the turtles encounter a fearless journalist named April O'Neil, who is investigating a crime wave that is sweeping through the city. The turtles quickly become involved in her investigation and begin to unravel a diabolical plan by the evil Shredder and his Foot Clan to take over the city.
Along the way, the turtles also team up with April's wise-cracking cameraman, Vern Fenwick, and battle Shredder's henchmen, including the deadly ninja warrior, Karai.
The movie features high-octane action scenes, stunning visual effects and impressive performances by the actors portraying the turtles. The film also includes character development, as the turtles come to terms with their unique abilities and learn to work together as a team.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success, grossing over $493 million worldwide. A sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, was released in 2016.
