The movie Taxi 2 is a French action-comedy film, released in 2000. It is a sequel to the 1998 movie "Taxi."

The story revolves around a young cab driver, Daniel (Samy Naceri), who drives a customized white taxi in the streets of Marseille, France. He is in love with a beautiful Japanese woman named Yumi (Natsuko Takaishi), who works as the secretary of the Japanese minister of defense.

Meanwhile, a group of Japanese yakuza gangsters led by Mr. Bellec (Frédéric Diefenthal) kidnaps the minister of defense during his visit to Paris. Yumi is also taken hostage. The French police, including the tough cop, Emilien (Frédéric Diefenthal), who worked with Daniel in the first movie, are tasked with rescuing the kidnapped victims.

However, Daniel and Emilien join forces once again to track down the kidnappers and rescue Yumi and the minister. Daniel's taxi, which is equipped with high-end features such as nitro boosters and a powerful engine, proves to be their biggest asset.

The movie is filled with adrenaline-rushing car chases, explosive action sequences, and hilarious humor. The chemistry between Daniel and Emilien, who are polar opposites, adds a layer of comedy to the movie.

The film was directed by Gerard Krawczyk and produced by Luc Besson, who also co-wrote the screenplay. It became a huge box-office success in France, grossing over $110 million worldwide.
