Tarzan's Secret Treasure is the fifth installment in the Tarzan film series and was released by MGM in 1941. The movie stars Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan, Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane, and Johnny Sheffield as Boy.
The film begins with a scientific expedition led by Professor Elliott (Reginald Owen) and his daughter Connie (Barry Fitzgerald), who discover a rich deposit of gold on Tarzan's escarpment. However, their excitement is short-lived when they are kidnapped by the ruthless couple Medford (Reginald Denny) and Vandermeer (Philip Dorn) who want to find the gold for themselves.
Meanwhile, Tarzan and Jane receive a visit from their old friend, Captain Fry (Tom Conway), who warns them of the danger that the gold discovery could bring to the jungle. Tarzan agrees to help the professor and his daughter, but when Medford and Vandermeer learn of this, they kidnap Jane and Boy in an attempt to force Tarzan to reveal the location of the gold.
Tarzan and his animal allies, including a herd of elephants, set out to rescue his family and the Elliotts from the clutches of the evil captors. They must also navigate through treacherous territory and fight off attacks from hostile natives, led by the witch doctor Baleka (Rafaela Ottiano).
In the end, with the help of his animal friends and the resilient spirit of the human captives, Tarzan saves the day and restores peace to the jungle. The movie was a commercial success, and the iconic character of Tarzan continues to be a pop culture staple to this day.
