Captain Fry, a white hunter, plans to capture Tarzan and take him back to civilization to be displayed as a savage curiosity. He and his team set up traps in the jungle, but Tarzan manages to outwit them each time as he is a skilled and cunning jungle man.
Meanwhile, Eric and Rita, Jane's cousins, arrive in the jungle seeking Jane's help in claiming a fortune left to her by their uncle. They convince Jane to return to civilization with them, but Tarzan is not willing to let her go and begins to follow them.
Fry eventually captures Tarzan by shooting him with a tranquilizer dart, and cages him for transportation. However, Tarzan's animal friends come to his rescue, freeing him from his cage and creating chaos that enables Tarzan to escape.
As Tarzan tries to rescue Jane from the clutches of Fry, Eric, and Rita, they all venture deeper into the jungle, discovering lost cities and ancient civilizations along the way. In the end, Tarzan outwits Fry and saves Jane, with the help of his animal friends, before returning to his jungle home once again.
