Tart is a coming-of-age drama film, released in 2001, directed by Christina Wayne. The movie revolves around Cat Storm, a sixteen-year-old student attending a fancy private school in New York City who is desperate to become popular and part of the "in-crowd".
Cat's efforts to fit in lead her down a dark path of drugs, sex, and deceit, which ultimately puts her in dangerous situations. She becomes involved with the wrong people and ends up betraying her true friends in the process.
Throughout the movie, Cat struggles with identity issues and ultimately learns the hard way that popularity comes at a price. The story also deals with themes of class, privilege, and the pressures faced by teenagers in today's society.
