Tales from the Hood is a horror anthology film released in 1995. The movie includes four interrelated stories featuring African American protagonists dealing with social issues and supernatural horror. The framing story involves three drug dealers visiting a strange funeral home to purchase drugs from the owner, Mr. Simms.

The first tale, "Rogue Cop Revelation," follows a young politician named Clarence who uncovers evidence of a corrupt cop's involvement in a recent shooting. As he investigates further, he realizes that the cop is a member of a secret society of racist police officers who target black citizens. However, the cop's spirit continues to haunt the community even after his death.

The second story, "Boys Do Get Bruised," centers on a young boy named Walter who is afraid of a monster living in his closet. When his abusive father refuses to believe him, Walter turns to his caring grandmother for help. However, as the grandmother investigates, she discovers a dark family secret that explains the monster's existence.

The third tale, "KKK Comeuppance," follows an elderly former civil rights activist named Mr. Johnson who discovers that his new neighbors are members of the Ku Klux Klan. As he confronts them, he realizes that they are not just racist but also possess supernatural powers that pose a threat to his entire community.

The final story, "Hard-Core Convert," features a gangster named Stack who is killed during a police shootout and sent to a prison in Hell. There, he meets a demonic counselor who shows him the error of his ways and offers him a chance at redemption.

Throughout the film, Mr. Simms comments on each story and revels in the drug dealers' fear as they realize that all of the stories are connected and reflect the horrors of racism, corruption, and violence that plague their community. The film ends with a final twist as Mr. Simms's true identity is revealed, highlighting the cyclical nature of violence and the never-ending quest for justice.
