The movie Tales from the Darkside: The Movie is a horror anthology which includes three stories and an interwoven fourth story.
In the first segment, "Lot 249", a graduate student named Bellingham (played by Steve Buscemi) purchases a mummy and reanimates it with an ancient Egyptian formula. The mummy goes on a rampage, seeking revenge against those who have wronged Bellingham and ultimately becomes his servant.
The second segment, "The Cat from Hell", is based on a short story by Stephen King and features a wealthy old man who hires a hitman to kill a black cat that he believes is responsible for the deaths of his family members. However, the cat proves to be more than just a simple feline and turns the tables on the hitman.
The third segment, "Lover's Vow", tells the story of a struggling artist named Preston (played by James Remar) who witnesses a gruesome murder committed by a monster in the streets of New York City. The monster promises to spare Preston's life if he promises never to tell anyone what he saw. However, as Preston's life begins to improve, he becomes haunted by the demon's words.
Throughout the movie, the interwoven fourth story follows a young boy named Timmy (played by Matthew Lawrence) who is being held in a witch's kitchen and is about to become the next meal. As the witch prepares to cook him, Timmy tries to scare her with stories from his favorite book "Tales from the Darkside".
Overall, the movie is a classic horror anthology that features a variety of different monsters and twists that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
