Tales From The Dark 1 is a horror anthology film that combines three short stories from Hong Kong horror writer Lilian Lee. The first story, "Stolen Goods," is about a young couple who moves into a new apartment and discovers a mysterious box hidden in the walls. When they open the box, they unwittingly release an evil spirit that haunts them and begins to destroy their relationship.
The second story, "A Word in the Palm," follows an ex-convict who seeks revenge on the fortune teller who put him in jail. He pays her a visit to demand an explanation, but the fortune teller reveals a terrifying secret that she has been carrying with her for years.
The third story, "Jing Zhe," is about a woman who seeks answers after her husband mysteriously disappears during a business trip. She discovers that her husband was involved in a dark and dangerous world of black magic, and she must use her wit and courage to navigate this treacherous world and find him.
Tales From The Dark 1 offers a unique blend of horror, suspense, and mystery that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The film is directed by Simon Yam, Lee Chi-Ngai, and Fruit Chan, and features a talented cast of actors including Kelly Chen, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, and Gordon Lam. It is the first in a two-part film project, with Tales From The Dark 2 following in 2013.
