In Taken 2, Bryan Mills (played by Liam Neeson) and his wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) travel to Istanbul to work on their relationship after their divorce. However, they are soon kidnapped by Murad Krasniqi (Rade Šerbedžija), the father of a man that Mills killed while rescuing his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) in the previous film.
Mills is able to escape his captors and begins to work on a plan to rescue his wife and stop Murad and his gang. Meanwhile, Kim, who is in Istanbul with her boyfriend, becomes entangled in the plot and is forced to use the skills her father taught her to fight off the kidnappers.
Mills coordinates with Kim to track down Murad and his men, leading to a series of intense action sequences throughout the streets and rooftops of Istanbul. Ultimately, Mills is able to rescue his wife and defeat the kidnappers, but not without facing a number of tough challenges along the way.
While Taken 2 received mixed reviews from critics, it was a commercial success, grossing over $376 million worldwide. A third film in the series, Taken 3, was released in 2014.
