Tai-Pan is a 1986 film based on the novel of the same title by James Clavell. The story follows Dirk Struan, a ruthless and ambitious trader who becomes the Tai-Pan (supreme leader) of the powerful British trading company Noble House in Hong Kong.

As the British begin to establish their dominance in Hong Kong, Dirk Struan battles against his rivals and faces challenges from the local Chinese authorities.
