Sword of Destiny is a Chinese martial arts film directed by Yuen Woo-ping and starring Lin Gengxin as Meng Yang. The movie is a sequel to the 2016 film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, and is based on the novel Iron Knight, Silver Vase by Wang Dulu.
The film begins with Meng Yezi, a master swordsmith who casts the famous Hanguang Sword for the court. However, he is betrayed by Zhao Han, who serves in the court, and is forced to flee for his life with his son Meng Yang. Meng Yezi manages to save his son by giving him the unforged Chengying Sword before he is assassinated by Zhao Han's men.
Twenty years later, Meng Yang has grown up and is determined to avenge his father's death. However, he finds himself in a difficult situation as he must compete with the Hanguang Sword, which has become the most powerful weapon in the country. To make matters worse, Meng Yang is also sent on a mission to escort the prince Gong Zidu back to the palace to succeed to the throne.
During the journey, Meng Yang discovers that there is more to his family's extermination than meets the eye. He seeks the help of a martial arts master called Silent Wolf, played by Donnie Yen, who is also on a mission to investigate the truth about the Hanguang Sword.
As they travel together, Meng Yang and Silent Wolf face many challenges and enemies, including the treacherous Zhao Han, who is determined to stop them from uncovering the truth. The two warriors must use all their skills and fight with all their might to survive and complete their mission.
In the end, Meng Yang and Silent Wolf face a final showdown with Zhao Han and his men. With the help of the Chengying Sword and their martial arts expertise, they manage to defeat their enemies and expose the truth behind the Hanguang Sword. The film ends with Meng Yang and Silent Wolf walking away victorious and ready to face whatever challenges come their way in the future.
