Swimfan is a thriller movie released in 2002. It revolves around the life of Ben Cronin, a high school swim champion, who has everything he wants in his life. He has a winning streak in his swimming competitions and is on the verge of getting an athletic scholarship to college. He has a loving girlfriend, Amy Miller, who supports him in his endeavors.
However, things take a drastic turn when Madison Bell, a new girl in town, joins their school. Ben feels attracted to Madison because of her mysterious and seductive nature. Madison reciprocates his feelings and starts flirting with him. Ben falls for her and starts an affair with her.
Soon, Ben discovers that Madison is not the person she appears to be. She becomes obsessed with him and starts stalking him. When Ben tries to end the affair, Madison becomes manic and starts spreading rumors about him and Amy. She gets violent and tries to harm Amy and Ben's friends.
Ben realizes his mistake and tries to make things right, but Madison refuses to let him go. The movie ends on a tragic note when Madison takes her own life, and Ben is left with the guilt of his actions.
Swimfan is a story of how one mistake can change someone's life forever. It also highlights the importance of trust and loyalty in relationships. The movie was directed by John Polson and starred Jesse Bradford as Ben and Erika Christensen as Madison.
