Sunset Strip is a 2012 independent film directed by Hans Fjellestad. The movie is set on a single day in Hollywood in 1972 and follows the lives of several young people as they pursue their dreams and try to find their place in the vibrant music and entertainment scene of the era.

Zach (played by Jared Leto) is a struggling musician who lives in a canyon outside of Los Angeles. He spends his days practicing his guitar and playing impromptu duets with a mysterious, unseen guitarist who he hears but never sees. Zach has plenty of talent, but he lacks the connections to make it big in the music industry.

Meanwhile, Tammy (played by Emily Peck) is a talented costume designer who works with a variety of up-and-coming musicians and bands. She is open to quick, casual sex with these rockers, but she also harbors a crush on Michael (played by Adam Barnett), a photographer who is recovering from a bout of syphilis.

Michael, in turn, is struggling to get his career back on track and win Tammy's heart. He is good friends with Felix (played by Lucas Haas), a morose, alcoholic songwriter who is perpetually struggling with writer's block.

As the day progresses, the characters get caught up in a variety of dramas and challenges. Zach lands a gig opening for a British rocker at the legendary Whisky a Go-Go club, but he struggles to connect with a tough crowd. Tammy finds herself in a dangerous situation when she agrees to help a musician score drugs. Michael tries to find his way back into Tammy's good graces, while Felix spirals further into depression.

The film is ultimately a portrait of a particular moment in time and a particular place, capturing the energy and excitement of the early 1970s in Hollywood. It combines elements of drama, romance, and comedy to create a portrait of a generation of young people who are searching for their place in the world.
