Sunset Grill is a 1993 film directed by Kevin Connor and written by John Allen Nelson. The story revolves around Ryder Hart, a private investigator and former police officer who has hit a rough patch in his life and drinks to get through the day. He is haunted by memories of a case gone wrong, which led to his dismissal from the police force.
His estranged wife, Anita, runs a bar and restaurant called the Sunset Grill, and is romantically involved with a cop named Jeff who used to work with Hart. When Jeff is brutally murdered, Hart is called upon by Anita to help find the killer. The investigation takes him on a dangerous journey through the seedy underbelly of the city, and he discovers a web of corruption that runs deep within the police department.
Along the way, Hart is aided by a colorful cast of characters, including a tough-talking bartender, a beautiful singer, and a sympathetic detective who is willing to help him despite their rocky past.
