Summering is a coming-of-age adventure film that follows four best friends, Mason, Ellie, Ben, and Melinda, as they spend their last weekend of summer vacation together before heading off to middle school. They decide to revisit a secluded area in the woods that they used to play in when they were younger. While exploring the area, they come across an old abandoned cabin that they had never noticed before.
As they investigate the cabin, they discover a mysterious journal hidden inside. The journal contains cryptic messages about a long-lost treasure that is hidden somewhere in the woods. Intrigued by the idea of a treasure hunt, the group sets out on a journey to find it. Along the way, they encounter obstacles, including a rival group of kids who are also searching for the treasure.
