The movie revolves around five friends who are members of a sci-fi club. Tomoya, who is the leader of the group, is determined to find a solution to the unbearable heat of summer, which prevents them from having fun in their clubhouse. One day, a time machine appears out of nowhere, which gives them an opportunity to go back in time and fix their problem.
The group decides to use the time machine to go back a day before their summer holidays began. This would give them a chance to retrieve the remote control of their air conditioner, which they left behind at their school. However, things don't go as planned as they accidentally end up going back in time much earlier than they intended.
As they travel through different eras, they encounter various challenges and obstacles. They leave behind a trail of confusion and chaos as they try to navigate their way back to their own time period. Along the way, they come across a number of peculiar characters, including a feudal Lord, a pub landlord, and a hippie.
As they race against time to complete their mission, they realize that changing the past can have a ripple effect on the present. The group comes to the realization that their actions in the past would have unforeseen consequences on their current lives. Nevertheless, they persist and continue to uncover new mysteries and adventures as they try to find their way back to their own time.
