Summer Ghost is a Japanese drama film that tells the story of three high school students - Tomoya, Aoi, and Ryo. Despite their different personalities and backgrounds, the three of them met online and formed a unique bond. One day, they hear about an urban legend that speaks of a "summer ghost" - a spirit girl who appears when fireworks are set off.
As they each struggle with their own personal demons, Tomoya, Aoi, and Ryo decide to seek out the summer ghost in the hopes of finding solace and comfort. However, as they embark on their journey, they soon realize that the answers they seek may not be exactly what they were hoping for.
Tomoya, played by Yuta Koseki, is a quiet and withdrawn student who feels as though he is unable to live the life he envisioned for himself. Aoi, played by Anna Yamada, is a free-spirited girl who feels lost in the world and is searching for her place in it. Meanwhile, Ryo, played by Ryo Yoshizawa, had his once shining future pulled away from him in an instant, leaving him feeling lost and alone.
The film takes place over the course of one summer night when life and death cross paths, resulting in a rollercoaster of emotions for the three protagonists.
