The movie Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story is based on one of the most shocking murder cases in American history. Melanie McGuire, played by actress Erika Christensen, is a highly skilled fertility nurse living in New Jersey. She is happily married to her ex-Navy husband Bill, played by actor Logan Marshall-Green, and they have two young sons.
However, Melanie's life takes a drastic turn when she meets Dr. Brad Miller, a handsome and charming doctor at her clinic. The two begin a passionate love affair that quickly becomes intense and all-consuming. They engage in sexual acts at work and play out their fantasies in detail.
As the affair continues, Melanie becomes increasingly despondent and worried that Bill will find out. In a moment of desperation, she drugs and kills him, before dismembering his body and placing the remains in three suitcases. She then throws them into Chesapeake Bay, hoping to cover her tracks and avoid detection.
