Sudden Death is a 1995 action film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Darren McCord, a firefighter and former soldier who is attending a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game with his two children. During the game, a group of terrorists led by a man called Joshua Foss (played by Powers Boothe) take control of the arena and hold the Vice President hostage in a private box.

When McCord's daughter Emily is taken by the terrorists, he covertly follows them as they move her around the arena. Foss demands a billion dollars in exchange for the hostages, and threatens to detonate hidden bombs in and around the arena if his demands are not met.

McCord realizes that the only way to save his daughter and the other hostages is to take matters into his own hands. He begins to outsmart and take down the terrorists one by one, going from room to room and fighting his way through various traps and obstacles.

As the clock ticks down to the end of the game, McCord must defuse the bombs and rescue the hostages before time runs out. In a climactic showdown with Foss, he finally manages to save the day and reunite with his daughter.

Sudden Death was directed by Peter Hyams and received mixed reviews upon its release, but has since gained a cult following among action movie fans.
