Strictly Ballroom is a 1992 Australian romantic comedy directed and co-written by Baz Luhrmann. The film revolves around Scott Hastings, a talented ballroom dancer who has been training from a young age to win the Pan-Pacific Grand Prix Dancing Championship. However, Scott's unconventional dance style and desire to choreograph his own moves make him unpopular among the conservative dance establishment and his partner leaves him.
Scott then starts practicing with Fran, an inexperienced beginner who he initially rejects as his partner.
