Street Flow

Drama  France

Street Flow (Banlieusards in French) is a 2019 French drama film directed by Kery James and Leïla Sy. The movie revolves around the life of Noumouké, a young man who lives in a suburb of Paris, called Banlieue. He has to choose between two paths in life- either to become a lawyer student like his older brother Soulaymaan or follow the footsteps of his elder brother Demba, who is a notorious gangster.

Noumouké's life takes a turn for the worse when his mother is hospitalized, and he and his brothers have to resort to robbery to pay for her treatment. As he delves deeper into the world of crime, Noumouké's relationship with his brothers becomes strained, and he finds himself questioning which path is right for him.

The film takes a critical look at the cultural and social issues facing young people in the Banlieue of Paris, where poverty and violence are rampant. It also tackles issues of family loyalty, brotherhood, and the entanglement of crime and violence in the lives of young people.

Street Flow stars Jammeh Diangana, Kery James, and Bakary Diombera as Noumouké, Soulaymaan, and Demba, respectively. The film received positive reviews from critics and viewers alike, with many praising its authenticity and representation of life in the Banlieue of Paris.
