Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is a 2009 action sci-fi film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and written by Justin Marks. The film stars Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li, the daughter of a Hong Kong businessman who is kidnapped by M. Bison (Neal McDonough), the leader of the criminal organization called Shadaloo.
Chun-Li is raised by her mother and trains in martial arts, eventually becoming skilled enough to take on Bison and his minions. In Bangkok, Thailand, she meets Charlie Nash (Chris Klein), a member of the secret police force Interpol who is investigating Shadaloo. Together, they team up to rescue Chun-Li's father and put an end to Bison's evil plans.
The film also features other characters from the Street Fighter universe, including Gen (Robin Shou), a mentor of Chun-Li's, and Vega (Taboo), a Shadaloo assassin who fights Chun-Li in a memorable battle scene.
Despite being a commercial disappointment and receiving negative reviews from critics, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li has gained a cult following among fans of the franchise, who appreciate its faithful portrayal of the titular character and its action-packed fight sequences.
