Stop and Go is a comedy film that follows two sisters, Alice and Maddie, who receive a distressing phone call from their grandmother, Nana, reporting that she's being forcibly moved to a new retirement home by their reckless younger sister, Jenny. Nana's beloved dog, Buster, is also being taken against her wishes.
Determined to save their grandmother and Buster, Alice and Maddie set off on a wild, mile-a-minute road trip. Along the way, they encounter a series of unexpected obstacles, including car breakdowns, lost keys, and an inept hitchhiker named Tim.
As they race against the clock to reach Nana's retirement home before Jenny, Alice and Maddie also confront some deeper issues in their relationship and family dynamics. They must navigate their different personalities and reconcile their past disagreements in order to save their grandmother and her furry friend.
