India Stoker is a mysterious teenage girl mourning the sudden death of her father in a car accident. Her aloof mother, Evelyn, seems to have little interest in comforting her daughter, choosing instead to drink heavily and spend time with her sister-in-law, Aunt Gwendolyn.
One day, Uncle Charlie, whom India never knew she had, arrives at their estate to stay with them. He is a charming and sophisticated man, who immediately charms Evelyn, but India remains aloof towards him. However, as Uncle Charlie spends more time with India, she begins to realize he may not be what he seems. She becomes increasingly infatuated with him, but at the same time, she begins to uncover a dark and disturbing family secret.
As India investigates deeper, she finds evidence that suggests Uncle Charlie may have ulterior motives. She begins to suspect that he may have had something to do with her father's death and that he has other sinister intentions. Despite the danger, India becomes more and more drawn to him, leading to a climax that is both shocking and unforgettable.
Stoker is a mesmerizing, chilling, and visually stunning thriller that features fantastic lead performances from Mia Wasikowska as India and Matthew Goode as Uncle Charlie.
